I've always been aware of the BACHE brand and have had their 15 and 20 year old XO cognacs, but after drinking this bottle of Hors d'Age Grande Champagne Cognac, I have to say that the BACHE cognacs are really impressive.
Upon opening the bottle, the overflowing aromas of fruit, flowers and spices are perfectly balanced and warming on a winter's evening.
The first sip is almost butterscotchy, with a great sense of lubrication, followed by aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg that continue to emerge, with a woody finish that lingers. A good cognac. I enjoyed a good evening.
