I have been blindtasting wine on a regular basis with a group of friends for mor than thirty years and got more and more fascinated by spirits during the last five years. After exploring r(h)ums and whisk(e)y I finally got into Armagnac and Cognac. I am happy to be able to continue this interesting journey.

French wine, and the concept of terroir, captured my interest early on. Naturally, curiosity took me to spirits, in particular Cognac. Today I'm proud to be a member of the Cognac Expert team managing B2B projects, working on Cognac Expert Originals, and writing bottle reviews for the English Blog. I love to taste anything and everything - rum/rhum, whisky(ey), Armagnac, etc. - but no other spirit grabs my attention quite like Cognac, and all of its subtleties and nuance. Santé !
A cognac that is very much appreciated. Sincere and delicate, with good smoothness. A beautiful bouquet to be the envy of many cognacs. Many thanks to Sophie and Max for giving me this nectar.... Original (Italian): Un cognac che si fa' molto apprezzare. Sincero e delicato, di buona morbidezz...
Solid XO and lovely bottle
Daniel Bouju XO N° 27 is 15YR old, and from an older Advent Calendar. Dark fruits and baking spices lead off the nose initially. As it opens, prunes become more apparent, with those spices peeking out from everywhere. Subtle vanilla appears at the rim after a few more minutes. A really lovel...

I have not purchased this bottle, but this wonderful cognac was included in the CE test kit. This was my absolute favorite in this live testing event! Looking at the AVB (54°) in label of the bottle, I had a slight premonition that such a high AVB would also burn the taste, but NO, the taste was...
Very interesting cognac!
Although many people for some reason do not recognize it as cognac, it is still a full-blooded cognac, what with the fact that the color is not the usual brownish gold. It is also difficult to classify him, in my opinion he falls between VS and vsop, both in terms of taste and price. The manufac...
