Description
Prunier Claire Reserve Cognac: A Captivating Carafe of Fins Bois Beauty
This exquisite Fins Bois collector's edition is surely one of the most stunning and innovative releases from the esteemed Cognac house of Prunier. The Prunier Claire Reserve Cognac is a true example of tradition meeting the modern world, a celebration of Cognac's oldest techniques being preserved and enhanced through innovation and a daring new design.
Presented in a truly unique carafe and case, its design ensures maximum pleasure, a sensorial feast for the eyes, nose and mouth that goes on and on... The Claire Reserve enigmatically encapsulates everything the Maison holds true - family, heritage, tradition, superb quality and of course, the young spirit and innovative mind of the master blenders, who have been taking Prunier in new and exciting directions for some years now.
This Rare Reserve is named after Mr Prunier's daughter, Claire, as like its namesake it is both elegant and refined, a fitting homage to a Maison that puts family and tradition at the forefront. This complex Cognac is a prime example of the Prunier house style, offering all the traditional and exceptional qualities of a Fins Bois with a relatively light tannin for a 30-35 year blend such as this.
Dried fruits and citrus peel dominate on both nose and palate thanks to the traditional "on the lees" distillation process, and of course with a Cognac of this age, that classic Charentais "rancio" character presents itself, perfuming the palate in a powerful punch of flavor, hints of leather, licorice and coffee also permeate across the senses.
Presentation of the bottle
This carafe is not only an impressive visual work of art, but equally has been designed with a functional purpose in mind, preserving the quality of the 30-35 year old Cognac houses in this picture-perfect piece.
It goes without saying that the cut crystal carafe and signed certificate of authenticity assure a high quality product hides inside this magnificent masterpiece, but it's only when you look inside the elegant drawers of the case that the innovation and inventiveness of the Maison's master blenders really comes to life.
The small pocket of glass beads found inside can be placed into the carafe in order to reduce the amount of air inside, thus preserving the quality inside once the decanter has been opened, meaning you'll enjoy the same ultra-sensory experience whether your glass is refilled after one hour or one month.
These gorgeous glass marbles mean your Cognac will remain refined on the palate for a long time, an interactive art piece that can be enjoyed over and over again. In the left hand side of the drawer, Maison Prunier has kindly offered an explanatory booklet, revealing some of the house's best kept secrets to their Cognac production. The case equally contains other notes about the heritage and history of the house, alongside a wonderful mirrored stand to showcase your new prized possession and collector's item.
The carafe design is as refined and elegant as its namesake, the contrast of the hand-cut sharp lines against the smooth and round body and neck of the carafe express both masculinity and femininity simultaneously.
This dichotomy further demonstrates the unconventional and ingenious workings of Prunier's master blenders, beautifully balancing tradition and innovation in the most stunning way.
How to Enjoy
This collector's item is truly a marvel on all the senses, enhance the experience by enjoying neat in crystal, high quality glassware, perhaps while celebrating a special occasion with dear friends.

About Prunier Cognac
Steeped in tradition, Cognac Prunier is a family run firm with cellars in the heart of the town of Cognac. The house does not own its own vineyards, instead, they buy the eaux-de-vie directly from supplying vine growers and distillers each year, and then carry out the ageing process in their own cellars.
