Description

Finesse and Fruitiness in this Beautiful Blend

Normandin Mercier Vieille Fine Champagne Cognac is an award-winning cognac from a highly-regarded historical house. This quality VSOP blend has been created from eaux-de-vie sourced from both the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne regions, two pristine growths coming together to produce, on one hand, length and distinction, and on the other, subtlety and softness. First aged between 12 to 14 months in new oak barrels of 350 litres, the blends were then moved to very old, traditional tierçons of 550 or 600 litres to reach their perfect proof. Many of the cognacs included in the blend have been aged for around 15 years, although some are younger, hence its VSOP classification.

Vieille Fine Champagne Cognac owes its finesse to Normandin-Mercier, a cognac house full of passion and knowledge that dates back all the way to 1872. Sitting amongst the beautiful surroundings of Château de la Péraudière, it produces cognacs that range from a VSOP upwards, alongside a superb collection of Pineau de Charentes. Today, Normandin-Mercier’s reputation is upheld by Edouard, Jean-Marie and Audrey Normandin, who form a formidable family unit.

A lovely amber color delighting from its sleek Cognacaise bottle, the contents of Vieille Fine Champagne Cognac are even more appetizing. On the nose, fruitiness abounds, hints of almond and plum uniting to form a winning team. On the palate, it brings a nice, direct intensity, and is best enjoyed at the end of the meal as a delectable digestif.

Vieille Fine Champagne Cognac was awarded a silver medal at the 2016 International Wine and Spirit Competition. With equal parts strength and delicacy, it’s a versatile blend ready to delight every type of cognac connoisseur.
