Tasting review

Eye: Luminous red amber.

Nose: From the first nose, we are confronted with the grandeur and distinction of this rare Cognac. Its subtle aromas of flowers and sylvan, combined with gentle hints of juniper berries, spices and an enticing “rancio” give this Cognac a particularly rich and aromatic bouquet.

Palate: The combination of mellowness with abundance and the deep finish of this Cognac is phenomenal. Just a touch of this spirit to your lips will linger memorably on the palate, engaging delectably with the taste buds.

HINE Family Reserve Cognac

Family Reserve is a showpiece for HINE’s bespoke cognacs. It is an exceptional blend of more than 50 different Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie that have been aged for at least 50 years.

HINE Family Reserve Cognac was first created in 1936 by Francois Hine following a specific request from a New York customer. This cognac is a top quality blend of well aged Grande Champagne cognacs that have spent many years in the Hine family’s historic cellars on the banks of the River Charente and are part of the family’s private reserves - hence the name.

A strictly limited number of bottles are released sparingly each year, making it one of HINE’s rarest products. It is to be enjoyed by passionate connoisseurs of truly outstanding cognacs.

Presentation of the bottle:

An elegant bottle with high shoulders and a long neck, it bears the royal arms emblem due to HINE being appointed the official cognac supplier to HRH Queen Elizabeth II in 1962. The label features the photos and names of generations of male Hine family members as well as the renowned golden HINE stag.

The bottle comes in a wooden presentation box which also displays all the generations of Hines following Thomas Hine in 1775. The whole package effortlessly demonstrates class and sophistication.

How to enjoy:

Serve at 14°. This Cognac would pair well with chocolate or cheese cake.

About Hine Cognac

Located in the heart of the Grande Champagne, the premium wine growing area of the Cognac region, the house of Hine has been producing some of the most exquisite Cognacs for six generations, when it was better known as T Hine & Co Cognac. The estate boasts an exceptional 173 acres of vineyards, and the house has a very special tradition of producing relatively small quantities - but with a very high standard in quality. One of their trademarks is to store their vintage casks in damp cellars in Bristol, England. This way, the Thomas Hine Cognac goes through a uniquely different ageing process due to the humidity of the seaside town, which differs somewhat to that of the southwestern coast of France. These highly priced vintage bottles are called “Hine Early-Landed Vintage Cognac”.
