Eye: A warm autumnal orange.

Nose: Elegant with floral notes of rose with orange and citrus marmalade. Lavish aromas of mocha drift onto the second nose, with ripe red apple, raspberries and pear.

Palate: Round mouthfeel with the rich, creamy notes of mocha, vanilla and coffee, after a few sips experience rich buttery pastry textures with rounded nutty notes of cashew, walnut and sandalwood. A long, consistent and well-rounded finish.

Description

Calm yet complex, Bache Gabrielsen Réserve Sérénité Cognac

Sérénité, or serenity, is a state of tranquility, a feeling of comfort and calm. The name was chosen as a reflection of the serene spirit of this unique Cognac, which will leave you feeling satisfied and settled after the first sip. The Cognac boasts a mix of eaux-de-vie made from traditional Ugni Blanc grapes and the more rare and respected Folle Blanche variety, which adds an opulent quality to this already exquisite Cognac.

An Extra aged Cognac with a blend of eaux-de-vies exclusively from the Grande Champagne cru that have aged for between 20 to 60 years in traditional Limousin casks - this Cognac holds arguably all of the components that make a high quality and superb Cognac. The IWSC and San Francisco Spirits Competition agree, earning an "Outstanding" quality award as well as Double Gold in 2016.

The Bache-Gabrielsen estate is a family-owned business founded in 1905, the estate boasts a rustic facade, but houses a state of the art production facility within it. Using their knowledge and expertise, the expert Cellar Masters at Bache Gabrielsen manage to find the balance between tradition and modernity, of tried-and-tested techniques with innovation. This is perhaps why their Extra Tres Vieille Grand Champagne Cognac, with an average age of 30 years, is truly a wondrous and exciting drinking experience. The nose is surprisingly fresh for a Cognac of this age, with a bright and floral bouquet with essence of rose balanced by earthy aromas and ripe fruit. Upon tasting, ripe red apple, raspberry and pear perfume the palate perfectly.

After a few sips, you'll experience rounded notes of vanilla and buttery pastry, an elegant mix of nuts and wood fan out onto the finish, with cashew, walnut and sandalwood persisting on the palate. For such a mature blend, this Extra Grand Champagne Tres Vieille Cognac holds all the vibrancy and elegance of a more youthful blend, whilst remaining refined with a depth of flavor that could only be achieved by a lengthy and traditional maturation process.

Bache Gabrielsen Serenité Extra Cognac Awards

  • 2016 Double Gold
  • Trophy of the Best Cognac in the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition 2012
  • Gold Award in the Cognac Masters 2014
