Description

Hine Prestige Mariage de Thomas Hine Cognac

Created in celebration of the 200th wedding anniversary of Thomas Hine and Françoise Elisabeth, Hine Prestige Mariage de Thomas Hine is a Grande Champagne blend of 12 vintage Cognacs harvested between 1921-1959. Assembled in 1991, this vintage blend offers a remarkable and harminous tasting experience indeed. From the complexity on the nose, through to the wonderful flavors and prevailing rancio present on the palate - it is an attractive offering that is sure to be admired by connoisseurs.

From vintage blends, to single plot offerings, Cognacs produced by Hine share the same attributes of delicacy, vivacity and finesse. Single vintages have been a signature of the brand for decades. Each vintage is a liquid snapshot that captures the essence of a particular year, echoing the elaboration of fine wines and Champagnes. Matching such high standards is only possible in years when nature provides optimal conditions for the growth of exceptional quality vines of which the best grapes can be selected from.

With the traditional vintage Cognacs becoming close to extinction, the house of Hine remain proud guardians of the casks and demijohns. Therefore the brand takes pride and responsibility when it comes to aging such serene vintage Cognacs under the floorboards of the Hine Estate - just a stone’s throw away from the epicentre of Cognac; Charente.

Presentation of the bottle

The delights of this Cognac start before you even think about opening its contents, as the Cognac is dressed in a opulent and carefully curated Baccarat Crystal decanter, which arrives housed within its own wooden, hand-crafted case. The case is intended to be used as a cigar humidor and holds around 75 cigars - allowing for the perfect pairing of Hine Prestige Mariage de Thomas and a fine cigar of choice. Equipped with a humidifier and hygrometer, every last detail of optimal preservation and tasting experience has been considered upon crafting such an exclusive product. A one-of-a-kind collectors item worthy of its rare place in even the most extensive of collections.

How to enjoy

Having found its alcohol content naturally over time, this vintage blend Cognac contains unparalleled elegance and infinite depth that should be enjoyed one sip at a time. Drink neat from a tulip glass, as the narrow top of this type of glass will delicately distribute the arrival of aromas during the tasting.

About Hine Cognac

Located in the heart of the Grande Champagne, the premium wine growing area of the Cognac region, the house of Hine has been producing some of the most exquisite Cognacs for six generations, when it was better known as T Hine & Co Cognac. The estate boasts an exceptional 173 acres of vineyards, and the house has a very special tradition of producing relatively small quantities - but with a very high standard in quality. One of their trademarks is to store their vintage casks in damp cellars in Bristol, England. This way, the Thomas Hine Cognac goes through a uniquely different ageing process due to the humidity of the seaside town, which differs somewhat to that of the southwestern coast of France. These highly priced vintage bottles are called “Hine Early-Landed Vintage Cognac”.
