Hennessy VSOP Privilège 200th Anniversary Cognac: Fit for a King

Back in 1818, the future King of England (who would become George IV) commissioned a ‘tierçon cask of excellent quality old pale’ from James Hennessy. The limited-edition Hennessy VSOP Privilège 200th Anniversary Cognac is a tribute to this 200 years of heritage. Made using a blend of eaux-de-vie that are between four and 15 years old, and mostly matured in seasoned French oak barrels, it finds the perfect balance between character and smoothness.

The House of Hennessy specializes in distilling their eaux-de-vie without the lees for a smooth, clean palate and utilizing humid cellars for a steady maturation. Presentation of the Bottle

The House of Hennessy called upon the talents of one of today's most innovative digital artists Can Buyukberber to create this delightful carafe. The distinct curvaceous Hennessy shape is taller and more elegant here, dressed in a label decorated with fine gold details. Accompanying the bottle is a unique metal carrying case featuring a leather handle.  

Combining old with new is something that Hennessy excels at, and this limited edition release certainly hits the spot. This is a bottle that any Cognac collector, and Hennessy collectors, in particular, will be keen to add to their collection. 

Serving Suggestion

Such a quality VSOP deserves a little time and attention. The sweet fruit notes make it a very tempting after-dinner drink; serve it neat in tulip glasses at room temperature as a digestif, perhaps accompanied by a slice of tarte au chocolat.
