Eye: This white pineau reveals a pale gold color with golden highlights.

Nose: The nose is open, fruity and fresh. It introduces itself with notes of yellow-fleshed fruits, such as slowly-plummeted plum. Associations of floral and varietal touches perfectly reflect the typicality of the grape variety.

Palate: The palate is straight, precise and fruity. It opens with notes of candied queen-claude supplemented with touches of acacia flower and noble plant tips. The structure combines a fruity and fresh aspect that extends to a crystalline varietal finish with a slight bitterness.

Description

Domaine du Chêne Colombard White Pineau

A Pineau made from 100% Colombard grape, the Domaine du Chêne Colombard White Pineau is a pure and precise selection. Produced with eaux-de-vie from clay-limestone and sandy soil, it offers a mineral essence with pleasant acidity. Aged in oak barrels, fruity and fresh flavors linger with a slight bitterness. A wonderful display of a pleasant grape variety that will please every Cognac lover.

The superiority of this blend is a product of the Charente Maritime in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region. Domaine du Chêne has owned vines here since 1865 and knows how to draw on its delights with expert techniques. With a method rooted in quality and authenticity, the wonders of the vineyards continue to develop with impressive innovation. Today, the Domaine du Chêne house boasts harmony between traditional and contemporary efforts. It is this focus that offers beautifully balanced Cognacs like the Domaine du Chêne Colombard White Pineau.

Presentation of the bottle

A clean, understated display compliments the essence of this Cognac with ease. A traditional white label is inked with golden tones that match the hue of the liquid harmoniously. Housed in a simple bottle, with a wooden top, it’s an effortless display of sophistication and elegance. Certainly, one to proudly display.

How to enjoy

As a pineau, it suits pairing with food beautifully. The Domaine du Chêne house suggests enjoying alongside 36-month ripened Comté with Mirabelle compote.

About Domaine du Chêne

Located at the heart of the Romanesque Saintonge province is Domaine du Chêne, which has remained a family estate for several generations since Jean-Baptiste Doussoux bought his first still in 1865.

The vineyard now covers 80 hectares growing several different grapes, including rare and old varieties like the Folle Blanche, among other classic varieties such as the Ugni Blanc.

The vineyards themselves are over 80 years old and today produce a range of bespoke products including their "Domaine du Chêne" range and Cognac "Jean Doussoux".
