Description

Domaine de la Chauvilliere Red Pineau

Domaine de la Chauvilliere Red Pineau des Charentes is as the name suggests a red Pineau made from merlot grapes that have been aged for a minimum of 18 months years in 12 oak casks. Far from the enormous volumes of the trade, the family of craftsmen that run this artisan business know-how to preserve the identity of their pineau thanks to a real savoir-faire passed on through generations.

Located in the Cognac Bons Bois region in the town of Sablonceaux in Charente-Maritime, the Hauselmann family have been producing Cognac and Pineau des Charentes since 1950. All of the manufacturing steps take place on the estate, from the vine to the bottle and welcomes guests to its tasting cellars every day except Sundays.

Presentation of the bottle

Housed in a traditional style wine bottle, the rich red color of the eaux-de-vie within is accentuated by a matching color palette on the neck and label work of the bottle. An elegantly displayed Pineau, that will sit with class amongst other wines and spirits in a collection.

How to enjoy

Enjoy Red Pineau as a refreshing aperitif amongst guests on a summer’s afternoon. We suggest serving it on the rocks or topped up with good quality tonic water. Pair with a platter of mature French cheeses including Roquefort, Beaufort or Brie de Meaux.
