Description
Fruity and Fabulous White Pineau from the Grande Champagne
Aged over several years in Limousin oak casks, the Couprie Pineau White Extra Vieux Cognac is a gorgeous fusion of Cognac and grape juice. Made using white Colombard and Ugni Blanc grapes from the Grande Champagne terroir, this is a refreshing and fruity example of the Couprie savoir-faire.
Besides Cognac, Pineau is a classic spirit created in the Charente. You will typically find that most Cognac houses produce their own family Pineau with their finest stocks. The Couprie estate is located in the town of Ambleville.
This particular Pineau is subtle and elegant, and is a wonderful addition to your regional collection. We recommend serving it alongside a great family dinner, to give a sweet and subtle edge.
Couprie has a very special method of crafting Pineau, including stirring the wines before distillation to enhance their aromatic potential. Double distillation is their preferred method, and it is thanks to the distiller that the finest eaux-de-vie are selected.
This white Pineau has been aged for a long time in their ancient, humid and dark cellars. It is thanks to this process that it develops such a seductive golden glow.
Serving Suggestions
This sweet and smooth Pineau will make a delicious aperitif, but also compliments foie gras, white meat, Roquefort cheese and ice cream.
Presentation of the bottle
This is a 75cl bottle that has been proofed delicately at 17% ABV.
About Couprie Cognac
When Pierre Couprie received the distillation permit in 1750, he introduced a long history for the Couprie family. Their estate in Ambleville in the Grande Champagne has been the home to the cognac house sine generations. Like many smaller producers, Couprie Cognac uses only its own wine production to ensure and control the highest quality of their eaux-de-vie. Courpie also produces Pineau des Charentes and liqueurs to broaden their product range.
