Claude Chatelier VSOP Cognac: a True Expression of Fine Champagne
A terrific expression of terroir, Claude Chatelier VSOP Cognac is classed as Fine Champagne, meaning that the eaux-de-vie used are all from the Grande or Petite Champagne areas, with at least 50% sourced from the larger of the two crus. The youngest component in the blend has been aged for at least four years, making this a balanced and structured Cognac bursting with notes of tobacco leaf, leather and spice.
As a Maison Ferrand brand, the ethos behind Claude Chatelier Cognac is that the final product should always represent a true expression of the land it came from. The grapes are grown and harvested without mass-production techniques, and each year's harvest is allowed to naturally mature in dark cellars before being bottled at an optimum age.
Selected for their high quality, the grapes and pressed into wine before being traditionally distilled and matured slowly until the right time has come. Only wines from the best regions are used to make Claude Chatelier Cognac; the result here is a subtle, well-balanced Cognac that lingers on the palate.
