Le Maine Giraud Vieille Reserve Cognac
La Maine Giraud Vieille Reserve Cognac invites you on a sensory journey to discover a new world of taste. Having patiently aged in French oak barrels for 15 years, it is the product of meticulous efforts and the magic of Mother Nature. The result: a wonderfully unique structure in the mouth – and a Fins Bois Cognac that is simply perfect for sharing with guests.
Born from the unique idea of combining a love for Cognac with a unique architectural and literary heritage – Maison Maine Giraud is centred around innovation. In fact, each plot of the estate is unique to another, allowing for one-of-a-kind, refined blends that differ from the rest.
Presentation of the bottle
Dressed in a classic wine-style bottle, the tall and slim form of this Cognac will accompany other wines and spirits of a collection effortlessly. The bottle’s label features a vintage illustration of the Cognac house and winery of Le Maine Giraud, which was once the home of the famous French poet, playwright and novelist Alfred de Vigny in the 1800s. Alfred de Vigny also appears in the illustration alongside details of the Cognac – reminding us of the blend’s roots and heritage. Arriving with a matching presentation box, the bottle is the ideal selection for those looking for a Cognac gift.
How to enjoy
A Very Old Cognac like this one merits a tasting at room temperature in its purest form – neat. If you have tulip glass, the slim neck of this type of glass will allow the aromas to evolve and develop to their utmost potential. Let the delicious nectar sit in the glass for a few minutes before bringing it to your lips to start the tasting.

Fresh as the spring sun!
Fresh, a bit on the sweet (vanille!) side and mild. The flavor bouquet is balanced - ripe! If you want more taste experience, I recommend some VS cognac. It suits my taste, there is also sharpness and history behind the sweet. I strongly recommend!
Over Maine Giraud Cognac
Owned by the Durand family since 1938, the cognac house and winery of Le Maine Giraud was once the home of the famous French poet, playwright and novelist Alfred de Vigny in the 1800s. One of de Vigny’s most well known poems is titled La Mort de Loup (The Death of the Wolf). This poem was written in Le Maine Giraud in Charente. Twenty kilometres south of Angouleme at Champagne-Vigny, the chateau is surrounded by forty acres of vineyards where today, as for many hundreds of years, the grape is grown in a traditional manner, just like in the days of de Vigny, to create cognac, wine and Pineau des Charentes.
