A defining moment that switched me from Cognac to Armagnac
To be honest, as a Cognac connoisseur, I picked this bottle of Armagnac because its packaging. I love the way its modern wooden casket gradually reveals the ancient mousquetaire's cross as I open it and stage it before serving the precious liquor to my wife and friends. Probably and somewhat unconsciously it signaled the promise that fond memories would spring from the past into my busy life. And that is exactly what I experienced with the glass.
Armagnac is Cognac PLUS: Same wonders coming from the fine alcohol aged in a perfect wooden barrel for so many years, PLUS an incredible richness of flavors and perfumes tracing back to the very grapes and the very soil and the unique year it was harvested from. While the Cognac process eradicates these subtle sources by boiling the wine twice to 90 degrees, the Armagnac process cherishes and keeps defining wine traces through the ages by boiling it to 70 degrees only and only once. This shows down through the tears in that bottle.
No wonder why the French true liquor connoisseurs from Gascony fall in for Armagnac and its infinite diversity and leave the norther more standard Cognac to the foreigners. This Armagnac Marcillac 1964 will remain to me as THE bottle that switched me from Cognac to Armagnac. Good bye Cognac, Bonjour Armagnac !
Definitively recommended and actually surprisingly cheap for the value.
It is a very smooth and delightful cognac.
A cognac for meditation and pleasure.
Nose: Honey, beeswax and pepper. Hint of flowers
Palate: wood, herbs and flowers. Orange peel. Balanced.
Aftertaste: long and explosive
Continue discovering this amazing at each time drinking Frapin & each time I love it more.
Paul Beau Hors d'Age
I think this is the best value for money hors d'Age cognac.
The Best Wooden Barrel Experience
The nose was first banana, cake and cream, then fresh grapes and then a beautiful rancio.
The taste was multilayered, first with great oak, fresh white grapes, and a slight citrus. Then we found a variety of heated fruit and pepper.
The finish was very long, with a rancio and black grapes.
I think this is a great bottle for those who like oak flavors.
I like fruity cognacs and I was impressed with this one.I would recommend this to not only cognac lovers, but also whiskey lovers who like fruit tart flavors and red wine cask.
Enjoy the change slowly in a snifter glass.
The aroma was caramel, nut and orange peel, which matched the description on the site.
The taste was initially sweet and pungent, like brown sugar. After that it was very smooth and reminded me of white pepper, ripe apples and chai.
The aftertaste was short, a light gradation of white grapes and ginger.
(Impressions a month after opening.)
I think this is a delicious XO that many people will love!
It's easy to pair with a variety of things and I found the brownies to be particularly recommended.
Like a sunset on the beach.
The sunset is always so elegant and charming on the South China Sea in autumn.
I went to the beach with a group of friends to eat seafood, the autumn sunset is particularly red, the water is reflected orange, every one of us really enjoyed this beautiful scene.
I took out this bottle of Francois Peyrot Heritage cognac to share with my friends, everyone knew that my cognacs are very good, everyone asked for a glass.
The mellow floral and fruity aromas of the poured cognac that overflowed with the liquid into the glass were appreciated by all.
A sip of the cognac was as rich as velvet in the mouth. The aromas of candied fruit, honey, leather and woody barrels are very distinct, and the rest of the cognac is very good.
It was paired with our local coconut cake, which brought out its wonderful aromas and flavours, and was as sweet as a haze.
Thank you, Cognac- Expert, for a very enjoyable evening.
Good cognac to calm your nerves.
A few years ago, a friend introduced me to a bottle of Chateau de Montifaud XO, and since then, I have a good impression of the brand Chateau de Montifaud. I've been following Chateau de Montifaud's product trends on Cognac- Expert's website, and I bought the wine at a reasonable price point.
When the cognac was poured into the glass, the aromas of nuts and some flowers were added to the complexity of the wine. My daughter couldn't wait to take a sip and said, "Wonderful, mellow and lubricious. "
I took a sip, and it was. The cigar box and oak emerge slowly, then the blossom and some perfume notes emerge insidiously, mellowing the wine and giving it an aged feel, with a long, fun finish.
Just wait for it to change and let it stay with you for the rest of the night.
Thank you to the cognac-expert for an enjoyable evening, thank you!
Very different taste
When friends talk about Cognac, they often mention Jacky Navarre, one of the mixologists in Cognac, and a friend of mine told me that his Cognac products were special and not what we normally drink.
I went to the cognac specialist's shop and bought a bottle of Jacky Navarre's medium-grade cognac.it is Navarre Souvenir Impérial Hors d'Age Grande Champagne Cognac.
I met up with some friends last night and opened the bottle of cognac. Wow, the cap was opened and it overflowed with a very special, unprecedented aroma of peeled mangoes and ripe papayas that we have here in southern China.
After some time, the aromas of apples and ginger are added. The cognac, when you take a sip, is very pleasant, with notes of mango and passion fruit, sweet and smooth, with a persistent finish and hints of sandalwood and dried eucalyptus leaves.
The cognac was unanimously praised and we were very happy to have such a rare taste.
Thank you to the cognac- expert for giving us a happy moment, thank you!
