Eye: Deep amber.

Nose: The Grande Champagne signature is immediate. Notes of balsamic vinegar, cocoa bean and precious wood are reinforced by a noble and distinguished hint of rancio.

Palate: Lively and clean, testifying to an extended maturation in a dry environment. Aromas of warm leather and red fruit dominate the powerful, vibrant mouth. The finish is long, expressive - and almost electric.

Grosperrin Tresor N°35/41 Grande Champagne Cognac: a Long-Lost Treasure

Sourced from a property in one of the best terroirs in Grande Champagne, the Grosperrin Tresor N°35/41 Cognac is another superb release from this esteemed house. The eaux-de-vie were purchased in 2012 from André Noblet, a famed winemaker who had made three blends with his father's brandies. Prior to their purchase by Grosperrin, these precious Cognacs had been stored in a dry attic - rather than a cellar as would normally be the case. The resulting liquid is wonderfully complex, showing classic rancio notes alongside wood, leather and fruits. It’s presented at a cask strength of 45.8% ABV, giving an intense and long-lasting tasting experience.

Grosperrin Cognac was created in 1992 by Cognac broker and merchant, Jean Grosperrin. After working in the wine industry for many years, Jean had created valuable relationships with winegrowers in Cognac, and contacts through which he could purchase some of the oldest and most sought after eaux-de-vies that had been produced over the decades in Charente. Today the house is still very much a family affair, being run by Guilhem Grosperrin since 2004. Grosperrin Cognacs are strictly controlled, with dates and vintages being fully traceable.

Presentation of the Bottle

As always, Grosperrin has opted for a flawless look when it comes to packaging. The tall, elegant bottle features a detailed label and a slim neck topped with a natural wood stopper. Of course, the bottle is presented in a beautifully polished wooden box engraved with the Jean Grosperrin name.

How to Enjoy

The complex tasting notes of this aged Cognac are best showcased in a tulip glass. After pouring, allow the liquor to breathe for 30 seconds to fully concentrate the most delicate aromas before you take a sip. We think this is perfectly served to guests as a digestif after a rich meal, or perhaps accompanying a classic French cheeseboard.
