Description
A Reserve Cognac from Martell
Martell Reserve Borderies Cognac is from the smallest, but for many, the most sought after terroir of the Cognac region. Covering only 4,000 hectares of unique soils, the Borderies produce eaux-de-vie that is light, floral, and characterized by notes of violets and irises.
This blend is both aromatic and seductive. It takes the taster on a true sensory journey - from the deep color of a Napoleon aged Cognac, through the delicious aromas, to the ever-changing palate. And of course, it ends in a long, satisfying, almost sweet note with hints of chocolates and french pastries.
Martell, one of the Big Four Cognac houses, has its home at the Chanteloup castle, and a distillery called Gallienne. It has always used eaux-de-vie from the Borderies cru, whose eaux-de-vie are sourced for the famous Cordon Bleu Cognac.
How to serve
Enjoy this excellent value Martell Cognac neat, in the traditional manner as a digestif. Or for a subtle change, drop in a couple of rocks of ice and revel in the subtle aroma and flavor changes this brings.

About Martell Cognac
Martell is the oldest of the Big Four Cognac houses. Similar to Rémy Martin, but a few years older still, not long ago did Martell celebrate its 300-year anniversary. The history of Martell & Co dates back to 1715 when Jean Martell founded the company with the wish to produce only the highest quality in Cognac. With the legendary bottles Martell Cordon Bleu, the cuvée Martell Extra L’Or de Jean Martell and the recent Création Grand Extra from 2007, the company strongly implanted itself in the luxury goods market, and are famous for using large amounts of eaux-de-vie from the Borderies terroir. It belongs to Pernod Ricard and has sales of around 15 million liters every year. The most precious eaux-de-vie, some of which date back to 1830, are stored in a secret location in the cellars of Jean Martell - approximately 1.6 million 9-liter cases!
