Description

The Leopold Gourmel Brut d’Epices is a Fins Bois Cognac containing a frenzy of flavours and blends of eaux-de-vie of more than 20 years old. Boasting a powerful palette, this naturally made Cognac offers an exclusive, unrivalled quality that will be undoubtedly admired by not just those who are new to the world of Cognac, but as Cognac experts and connoisseurs as well. The profile of Bruit d’Epices is marked by deep notes of rancio and spicy hints, whilst it’s generous and peppery power allow the Cognac to remain rich with infinite depth. A true emblem of the Fins Bois region, credited for its hilly land that provides eastern exposure to the vineyards, therefore permitting perfectly ripened grapes which make the wine stronger, richer and consequently more aromatic too.

Leopold Gourmel is a Cognac house that began in 1972 when founder Pierre Voisin first began curating Cognac, and as an ode to his grandfather, the brand was subsequently named Leopold Gourmel. Over the years, Leopold Gourmel has come on leaps and bounds and continues the tradition of excellence established by both Olivier Blanc and Nicolas Sinoquet who have strived to produce the very best quality, naturally produced Cognac that the region has to offer.

Presentation of the bottle

Presented in a beautiful decanter and presentation box - this Cognac should not languish in the back of a drink's cabinet, as it deserves centre stage for its elegant bottle shape and branded box. The bottle showcases the Cognacs deep mahogany red colouring and the branded logo of a wild horse. This arguably embodies the brand's values of remaining protective to the land and surrounding nature, in order to produce completely natural, sustainable products to be enjoyed damage free.

How to enjoy

Brut d’Epices should be served neat or on the rocks as a post-dinner digestive, following a menu of delicious food and sun-filled wine. This Cognac is the perfect finishing touch to a delectable dinner. Great company, great cognac - what more could you need?

About Leopold Gourmel Cognac

This cognac house has always relied on natural processes. From growing the grapes to picking, maturing, distilling, aging and bottling them, Gourmel cognac is free of any chemicals, pesticides or additives to enhance color in respect of nature and the final product. The philosophy of the company is to concentrate on quality not quantity, which means that one year the outcome may be higher than in others. This is further shown by the radical decision to produce only pure vintage cognacs, so there is no blending of different years in order to create VS, VSOP or XO cognacs for instance. To go with this authentic approach, the design of Gourmel is simple and modern.
