A Napoléon Cognac to be paired with a cigar
A rich a perfectly balanced Cognac, the Deau Cigar Blend Napoléon Cognac is truly one-of-a-kind. It has been assembled using eaux-de-vie from the first crus of the Cognac region, and are carefully aged in oak barrels. The warm and masculine aromas make it the perfect Cognac for cigar and spirit lovers.
As a Napoléon Cognac, the youngest eaux-de-vie of the blend must be at least 6 years old, however many in the blend will be far older. In general, the Napoléon age denomination denotes a well-aged Cognac. It has spent half of its life in red, older barrels, and then the other half in new barrels to impart flavor from the oak.
Distilled in the Moisans Distillery, it respects the traditional method of the Charentais still. The vineyards overlook the Charente River, and the distillery is home to 12 copper pot stills. They own over 2000 barrels of Cognac to select and blend. Their balance between time, elegance and the utmost care is part of their tribute to Louis Deau. This Deau Cognac Napoléon from the Moisans Distillery comes from a mastered elaboration of eaux-de-vie, distilled according to the traditional method of the Charentais still, and crafted with Ugni Blanc grapes.

Ye Olde Sweetie Shoppe
I quite like this. I find a lot of the Deau range to be confectionary-sweet. The Napoleon has the added element of a slight bitterness that you might experience when eating sweet shop licorice. It adds an interesting dimension that saves the cognac from being cloying and one-note.
About DEAU Cognac
With a history stretching all the way back to the 17th century, more than 300 years ago, the house of Deau is a true treasure among the artisanal producers of Cognac. Originally the brand grew and distilled all of its eaux-de-vie to be sold to other Cognac houses, however in more recent years, DEAU began producing under its own name. In honour of its family history and traditions, the brand is now making its mark on the Cognac industry with its own personal style and contemporary flair. All of DEAU’s Cognacs combine the mastership of aging and blending with luxurious and sophisticated design. This is the perfect gift for Cognac lovers, especially those with a soft spot for beautiful bottles.
