Description
A Historic Napoléon from the Bons Bois: Chateau des Plassons Cognac Napoleon
If you’re looking to cast your net wider than the usual well-known producers, then the Chateau des Plassons will certainly cater to your needs. And their Napoleon Cognac is a stunning example of this artisan house’s ability to produce exceptional Cognac from the best growth areas.
Aged for 10 to 15 years in Limousin oak casks in their peaceful one hundred-year-old winery, the Château des Plassons Napoléon Cognac is a selection over 10 different eaux-de-vie grown with Ugni Blanc grapes in the Bois Bois terroir, where the chateau itself is located.
This Cognac is, therefore, a beautiful allegory of their history.
Grown in a picturesque setting, the Chateau des Plassons vineyard was first established in the 17th century. The current vines are over 30 years old, and over time the vineyard has been extended considerably.
Set in an exceptional geological plateau of limestone, this picturesque setting also provides the perfect conditions for producing fine Cognac.
Crafted by two young and passionate brothers, David and Julien Pannaud, they have drawn upon years of savoir-faire with a history dating all the way back to the 1500s.
The Pannaud brothers take time to allow the wine to ferment naturally, thanks to carefully maintaining high temperatures throughout the process.
In the outbuildings of the chateau, they use a double distillation process in hundred-year-old Alambic Charentais stills made out of copper. This is the crucial point where the Cognac’s aromatic quality is decided.

Excellent Cognac
Chateau des Plassons Napoleon is produced from 100% Bons Bois, and is 15+ YR old. Some vanilla and gentle spice open on the nose, with some pear and light oak following. The palate brings some lovely spices, including cinnamon, and some floral notes, predominately violet, and with a long finish....
