Apraksts
Prunier 20 Year Old Fins Bois Cognac
Maison Prunier, a distinguished family-owned Cognac house, has been producing fine spirits since 1769, with family roots tracing back to 1701 as wine merchants in the Cognac region of France. As one of the few independent and family-run Cognac producers remaining, Prunier maintains traditional methods, including the use of copper pot stills. This 20 Year Old Fins Bois Cognac represents a commitment to tradition, reviving the practice of age-stated Cognacs that were more prevalent in the 19th century.
This particular Cognac originates from the Fins Bois cru, a significant growing area surrounding Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, and Borderies. The Fins Bois terroir is characterized by diverse soil types, including clay, chalk, and sand, under the influence of a maritime climate. This environment helps to produce eaux-de-vie known for their robust flavors and vibrant fruitiness. Predominantly made from Ugni Blanc grapes, the eaux-de-vie for this expression are aged for a minimum of 20 years in oak barrels. Maturation occurs in 250-400 liter medium-toasted oak casks within humid cellars situated by the River Charente, conditions that contribute to the Cognac's development.
This non-vintage Cognac is presented in a 750ml bottle with an alcohol by volume of 40%. It is a limited edition release, with approximately 2,500 bottles produced.
