This particular expression, the Collector's Series 1875 Heritage, is a Grande Champagne Cognac, sourced from a region renowned for its particular soil and climate. Cognac from Maison Surrenne is created using traditional methods and primarily from Ugni Blanc grapes. The producer emphasizes minimal blending, often bottling Cognacs that are unblended and unfiltered. Production avoids the use of artificial coloring, caramel, or boisé, allowing the natural character of the eaux-de-vie to be expressed. The Cognac is aged in oak casks, a fundamental step in its development.
