Description
The Incarnation of a cru: Lot 70 Petite Champagne from Vallein Tercinier
A beautiful blend of eaux-de-vie from the Petite Champagne region, Lot 70 Petite Champagne Vallein Tercinier is the stand-alone example of what makes this cru so distinguished. This refined and exceptional Cognac was hand-selected by the Maison’s master blender to please even the most particular palate. It has been aged for almost 50 years - half a century sleeping and developing its intense aromas.
A marriage of eaux-de-vie from Petite Champagne, this Cognac perfectly demonstrates how fruity and woody notes can work in harmony to create a simply divine drinking experience. The Cognac holds a profile that is typical of its region with its notes of Cedar and pineapple, crystallized mandarins and dried fruits, followed by an earthy hit of blond tobacco.
When Georges Vallein founded this Maison in 1850, he would have no idea that 5 generations would follow in his footsteps, honing their craft to sheer perfection as the years went by. Their blending processes, which allow complete control over the finished product, have set them apart from others and have given them a reputation as producers of some of the finest blends in the industry.
What makes this almost 50-year-old Cognac exceptional is that it has been bottled in its natural state so as not to take anything away from it (meaning a high alcohol content of 52%!), this lack of chill filtering delivers more intense flavors that permeate across all of the senses.
It delicately balances chocolate, licorice and exotic fruits on the palate, with a complex and intense finish of port wine, vanilla and English cake. On the nose the vanilla-like scent of tonka bean dominates, all the while being intersected with jasmine, saffron and leather, luxurious aromas for a luxury Cognac. If you’re looking for proof that Petite Champagne creates the most beautiful blends, look no further.
Lot 70 Petite Champagne from Vallein Tercinier is an enigmatic embodiment of this appellation, proudly shining the spotlight on the high quality of this region’s produce, both visually and in its flavors.
Presentation of the bottle
A classic and elegant design that comes with a beautifully crafted wooden box for storing or gifting purposes. The bottle’s label reinforces not only the heritage and stature of the Vallein Tercinier Maison, but also its provenance from one of the most highly reputable Cognac-producing regions.
Its wax seal is a nod to its 49-year aging process in exclusively French oak barrels, giving it a timeless and ‘raw’ feel that highlights the fact it is bottled in its natural state and not chill-filtered.
Both bottle and box are elegant, classic and tasteful - just like the Cognac stored within.

One of the best
This cask strength cognac gives you everything you would look for in such an old spirit. Lots of fruits, wood, rancio, chocolate. The nose is full of stone fruits, you could nose it for a long time. The palate changes with every sip. A loooong finish which stays with you for quite some time. Unfortunately...
Simply out of this world.
Incredible cask strength (brut de fut) brandy - amazing nose, very deep flavour, and long pleasant aftertaste. Worth every penny. Rare quality in an unassuming bottle, whereby consumer money is not wasted on a fancy glass container. Thank you CE for making this gem available.

With over 500 years of history, the artisan house of Vallein Tercinier is one that deserves the attention of all Cognac lovers – from those new to eaux-de-vie to the connoisseur. This brother and sister team bring an expertise to craft Cognac that's just aching to be discovered.
Many of their Cognac's have been awarded top class awards in many industry competitions, and this has meant a growing awareness of their products in some quarters. But, as with the aging process of Cognac, such a small craft brand is often lost amongst the noise razzmatazz of the 'big boys'. And that really is a crime, because as many esteemed connoiseurs are finding out, the offerings of Vallein Tercinier are of superb quality, unique, and once you've discovered them, will become a 'must have' brand to always have in your drinks cabinet.
Catherine and Louis are very proud to have stepped into the shoes of their many ancestors. And as is in keeping with family tradition, the've continued to move the company forward, whilst remaining true to the pure art of Cognac production. They've adapted the facilities to take full advantage of modern technology, and continue to produce some very special Cognacs indeed.
