Tasting review

Nose: A very complex nose offering multiple flavors including spices, cardamom and fennel which develop into sweeter notes of gingerbread, macerated oranges and exotic fruits

Palate: The powerful palate is marked by liquorice and bitter cocoa which gradually prevail into notes of plum, dried fruits and pear. There is a nice balance between a subtle rancio and powerful saffron flavors

Finish: There is a very good length in the mouth with peppery persistence and a finish of old port

Vallein Tercinier Brut de Fût Lot 66 Single Cask Cognac

Vallein Tercinier Brut de Fût Lot 66 Single Cask Cognac is both a fruity and spicy Cognac revealing blissful notes of liquorice, cocoa, plum dried fruits, pear and punchy saffron flavors. Made up of some of the best eaux-de-vie produced in the Cognac region, it is a Petite Champagne Cognac that spent a decade aging in a French oak cask. As an exclusive limited edition, bottled in 2022 and with only 287 bottles produced worldwide, it is an exclusive Cognac that should be cherished throughout each tasting.

The Vallein Tercinier Cognac house has been operating since 1850 and has amassed five generations' worth of knowledge surrounding fine-tuned Cognac production. Located in the Saintonge region, this brand now has an extensive collection of Cognacs that shines a spotlight on the family's impressive cellar of eaux-de-vie.

Presentation of the bottle

Vallein Tercinier Brut de Fût Lot 66 Single Cask Cognac arrives in a classic bottle, with the brand’s gold embellished logo stamped on the front of the labelling which presents a simple cream backdrop for the logo and product details. You’ll be sure to want to put this in a place for all to see.

How to enjoy

This trés vieux Cognac is best sipped neat at room temperature. Add a few ice cubes to the glass if you’re a more adventurous Cognac drinker as this will alter the tasting experience ever so slightly. About Vallein Tercinier Cognac

With over 500 years of history, the artisan house of Vallein Tercinier is one that deserves the attention of all Cognac lovers – from those new to eaux-de-vie to the connoisseur. This brother and sister team bring an expertise to craft Cognac that's just aching to be discovered.

Many of their Cognac's have been awarded top class awards in many industry competitions, and this has meant a growing awareness of their products in some quarters. But, as with the aging process of Cognac, such a small craft brand is often lost amongst the noise razzmatazz of the 'big boys'. And that really is a crime, because as many esteemed connoiseurs are finding out, the offerings of Vallein Tercinier are of superb quality, unique, and once you've discovered them, will become a 'must have' brand to always have in your drinks cabinet.

Catherine and Louis are very proud to have stepped into the shoes of their many ancestors. And as is in keeping with family tradition, the've continued to move the company forward, whilst remaining true to the pure art of Cognac production. They've adapted the facilities to take full advantage of modern technology, and continue to produce some very special Cognacs indeed.
