Description
Through the Grapevine 70's Fins Bois Mauxion Cognac
The Through the Grapevine 70's Fins Bois Mauxion Cognac is a remarkable blend of vintages from 1970 to 1979, crafted by the Mauxion family, who have been producing Cognac since 1743. Now led by Amaury Mauxion, the thirteenth generation, this Cognac showcases the finest qualities of the Fins Bois terroir. The calcareous soil and exclusive use of Ugni Blanc grapes result in a mature and harmonious expression that is both poetic and evocative.
This Cognac offers a captivating aromatic profile, beginning with smooth notes of beeswax, followed by the exotic scents of mango and banana. As the aromas unfold, refreshing hints of tiger balm and orange peel emerge, creating a lively, multi-faceted nose. On the palate, it is sharp and vibrant, with waxy and polished wood notes, reminiscent of a craftsman’s workshop. Creamy rice pudding flavors appear, gradually giving way to juicy grapes and herbal vine blossom. The finish is long and velvety, with powdered ginger, cinnamon, and exotic pineapple, lingering on resinous undergrowth notes of moss and mushrooms, along with bright citrus and walnut husk.
At 61.2% ABV, this is a bold and complex Cognac, ideal for connoisseurs who appreciate the depth and diversity that the Fins Bois region has to offer.

About Mauxion Selection Cognac
The origin of the Mauxion family dates back to 1575 when Pierre Mauxion was born in the village of Houlette. Today the estate is still home to the Mauxion family after thirteen generations. Antoine Mauxion was the first of the family to produce eaux-de-vie, back in 1743, and since then ten generations have followed in his footsteps. Today the house of Mauxion Selection continues to embrace original traditions with regards to caring for the vineyard and producing high class, quality eaux-de-vie.
Uniquely, Mauxion Selection offers a range of single cru expressions, available a range of sizes. All cognacs produced by Mauxion Selection come from the 6 prestigious terroirs of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, Fins Bois, Bons Bois and Bois Ordinaires. To preserve the flavor of their eaux-de-vie, Mauxion Selection Cognac is bottled at cask strength without any blending or reduction; allowing the eaux-de-vie to develop with exceptional complexity and depth. Whilst the attentive selection process may mean that quantity is limited, it ensures a Cognac of unrivalled quality, every time.
