Description
Mauxion Fins Bois 50 Years Old Cognac
Mauxion Fins Bois 50 Years Old Cognac is an extraordinary expression of the Mauxion family's long-standing expertise in Cognac production. This rare blend, crafted from eaux-de-vie harvested between 1969 and 1973, showcases the distinctive character of the Fins Bois terroir. With over five decades of careful aging, this Cognac has developed remarkable depth and complexity.
Bottled at cask strength and non-chill filtered, it offers a rich aromatic profile of dried fruits, toasted almonds, and warm spices. The palate is velvety and harmonious, unfolding layers of oak, vanilla, and subtle rancio notes, while the long, elegant finish lingers with hints of spice, honey, and dried apricots.
Presentation of the bottle
This exclusive Cognac is presented in a beautifully designed bottle with a wax-sealed top, emphasizing its artisanal nature. The label and wooden display box highlight its limited-edition status, making it a prestigious addition to any collection.
How to drink
Best enjoyed neat in a tulip glass to fully appreciate its complexity and refined aromas. Allowing it to breathe for a few moments enhances its depth. It pairs wonderfully with dark chocolate, aged cheeses, or a fine cigar, making it an ideal choice for a truly special occasion.

Strong but well balanced. Not for rookies.
I first tried this from a CE live tasting set and it was my favorite of the bunch. It touches on all flavors equally well with fruit, spice, wood, flowers. The 54% ABV is very noticeable with a spicey burn, but that also comes with a full range of complex flavors. Some days I love this, others it's...
One of the best I have tasted

I was met with spicy and fruity notes, with a delightful nutty finish on the palate. Having kept it aired out for a bit, I also got pear and apples,...
Stellar
The nose opens with a big blast of marmalade and fruit compotes. There's a charming floral background and the whole thing is beautifully balanced. The arrival on the palate is beautifully soft considering the strength. There's candied ginger and heaps of spiced fruit with lots of subtly developing...
A taste experience for a lifetime!
I have not purchased this bottle, but this wonderful cognac was included in the CE test kit. This was my absolute favorite in this live testing event! Looking at the AVB (54°) in label of the bottle, I had a slight premonition that such a high AVB would also burn the taste, but NO, the taste was...
About Mauxion Selection Cognac
The origin of the Mauxion family dates back to 1575 when Pierre Mauxion was born in the village of Houlette. Today the estate is still home to the Mauxion family after thirteen generations. Antoine Mauxion was the first of the family to produce eaux-de-vie, back in 1743, and since then ten generations have followed in his footsteps. Today the house of Mauxion Selection continues to embrace original traditions with regards to caring for the vineyard and producing high class, quality eaux-de-vie.
Uniquely, Mauxion Selection offers a range of single cru expressions, available a range of sizes.
