Description
Mauxion Borderies Cask 45 Cognac
Mauxion Borderies Cask 45 Cognac is an extraordinary single-cask release, aged for over 45 years in the Mauxion family’s humid cellars. Distilled exclusively from Ugni Blanc grapes and crafted in a small 9-hectoliter alambic still, this Cognac exemplifies the rich and expressive character of the Borderies terroir. Bottled at cask strength (54% ABV) without any additives, it delivers a pure and unaltered tasting experience.
The nose reveals deep, layered aromas of dried fruits, toasted nuts, and subtle floral hints, all enriched by the influence of long-term aging in a damp cellar environment. The palate is bold yet refined, with a remarkable texture from the lees distillation, offering notes of caramelized fruits, spice, and oak. The finish is exceptionally long, leaving a lasting impression of dark chocolate and delicate rancio.
Presentation of the bottle

Overpriced beauty
Mauxion has always been good at finding superb cognac. And they have become increasingly good at charging high prices. It is easy to believe that this is a 1945, but it is not. Previous experience with Mauxion Lot always refer to the vintage. So if you are not awake, you can easily buy a bottle that...
About Mauxion Selection Cognac
The origin of the Mauxion family dates back to 1575 when Pierre Mauxion was born in the village of Houlette. Today the estate is still home to the Mauxion family after thirteen generations. Antoine Mauxion was the first of the family to produce eaux-de-vie, back in 1743, and since then ten generations have followed in his footsteps. Today the house of Mauxion Selection continues to embrace original traditions with regards to caring for the vineyard and producing high class, quality eaux-de-vie.
Uniquely, Mauxion Selection offers a range of single cru expressions, available a range of sizes. All cognacs produced by Mauxion Selection come from the 6 prestigious terroirs of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, Fins Bois, Bons Bois and Bois Ordinaires. To preserve the flavor of their eaux-de-vie, Mauxion Selection Cognac is bottled at cask strength without any blending or reduction; allowing the eaux-de-vie to develop with exceptional complexity and depth.
