Description
Mauxion Bons Bois Multimillesimes 1973-1975-1976 Cognac
This unique release comprises three vintages in one, acquired by Thibault Mauxion from a family of winegrowers in the Bons Bois region. In the late 70s, these eaux-de-vie were combined in one barrel to save space in the cellar, and left for decades without any interference. The majority of the blend (56%) is the 1975 vintage, 41% is the 1973 vintage, while the remaining 3% is the 1976 vintage. In order to preserve its most delicate aromas, the Mauxion Bons Bois Multimillesimes 1973-1975-1976 Cognac has not been chill-filtered and is presented at a cask strength of 49.5%. Only 300 liters was obtained from the cask, making this a very limited edition indeed.
The origin of the Mauxion family goes back to 1575 when Pierre Mauxion was born in the village of Houlette, still home to the Mauxion family after thirteen generations. Antoine Mauxion was the first of the family to produce eaux-de-vie, back in 1743, and since then ten generations have followed in his traditions of caring for the vineyard, making wine and distilling in a traditional copper pot still.
Uniquely, Mauxion Selection offers a range of single crus in different sizes. To preserve their flavor fully, they are bottled at cask strength and without any blending. The long maturation these Cognacs go through allow them to develop exceptional complexity and depth.
Presentation of the Bottle
The classic packaging adds to the exclusive feel of this expression, presented in a simple bottle with gold wax and a golden plaque. A wooden presentation box completes the package. All Mauxion bottles are numbered and include a certificate from the producer stating the origin of the Cognac.
How to Serve
Take the time to leave this Cognac to rest in your glass before tasting it, and prepare yourself for the moment when you take the first sip. For the best tasting experience, serve at room temperature, or slightly chilled, in a tulip glass. Some water may be added to reduce the strength of this Cognac.

Formidable
After a long wait, the right occasion arrived and i opened it yesterday. Bravo Mauxion. Regular professional expressions would too dull to describe this chef d'oeuvre. Need to be poetic to do that, and since I'm not a poet, Formidable would be just a hint. Go ahead and get it, and find out...
Wow what an experience!!!
This is what we mean when we say cognac!!! This Cognac offers aromas of polished wood, black liquorice, maple syrup, raisins, prunes, and roasted walnuts that fill the nose. The palate brings notes of chocolate fudge, black liquorice, dates, dark honey, candied cherries, vanilla and dried fruit that...
