Description

Malternative Belgium Cognac No. 32 Laurichesse

Presenting the Malternative Belgium Cognac No. 32 Laurichesse, a remarkable single cask Cognac of the highest caliber. This Grande Champagne Cognac, distilled in the mid-1970s, hails from cask number 122 and is bottled at cask strength, showcasing the rich terroir of this premier cru. Distilled on a small, wood-fired alambic charentaise, this Cognac has been carefully aged in a single cask until its bottling on June 17, 2024. The result is a rare and exquisite spirit, representing the fourth exclusive bottling in the Laurichesse series by Malternative Belgium.

On the nose, this Cognac greets you with a tropical bouquet dominated by ripe mango and papaya, underlined by the warmth of candied orange peel, quince, worn leather, and black tea. The palate reveals a lively interplay of sweet, juicy fruits—apricot, persimmon, and passion fruit—melding with a luxurious buttery texture and mild spices. The experience concludes with a long, satisfying finish that balances the freshness of tropical fruits with the richness of extra virgin olive oil, leaving a lasting impression.

With only 528 bottles produced, including a joint bottling with Maltopedia China, this Cognac is a collector’s item that embodies the expertise of Olivier and Léa Laurichesse, the passionate distillers behind this extraordinary spirit.

Presentation of the Bottle

How to Drink

To fully appreciate the complex flavors of Malternative Belgium Cognac No. 32 Laurichesse, it is best enjoyed neat in a tulip glass, allowing the aromas to fully develop. For those who prefer, adding a drop of water can open up the bouquet even further, enhancing the tropical fruit notes. This Cognac is perfect for slow sipping, making it an ideal choice for a special occasion or quiet evening.
