Nose: Ripe apples, Sicilian oranges, and fresh pears lead the aroma, complemented by subtle mirabelles and apricots. A hint of Moroccan mint and jasmine blossom adds a fresh, Mediterranean character, while underlying cedarwood and sandalwood provide gentle depth.

Palate: Dense and rich with concentrated stone fruits. The sweetness of apricot and plum is balanced by zesty citrus, offering bright acidity. The texture is smooth and slightly oily, enhancing the mouthfeel and overall richness.

Finish: Long and layered, with lingering stone fruit and citrus notes. The soft presence of cedarwood and sandalwood adds warmth and depth as it fades slowly.

Description

Grape of the Art Vaudon Lot 75/78/80

The Grape of the Art Lot 75/78/80, a new release by Grape of the Art (GotA), showcases the mastery of Domaine Vaudon, which dates back to 1771. Blending eaux-de-vie from the harvests of 1975, 1978, and 1980, this expression is a true celebration of fruit-driven Cognacs from the Fins Bois terroir.

Vaudon’s distillation process is particularly notable, using Charentais stills in the traditional 'à repasse' method, where the aromas are concentrated tenfold, resulting in an intensely aromatic Cognac. On the nose, it offers a lively bouquet of stone fruits, pears, and citrus, supported by a gentle floral undertone. The palate continues this fruity exuberance with layers of apricot, fig, and a delicate sweetness of honey, all balanced by a subtle oak influence. This Cognac's silky texture and long, fruit-dominated finish make it a standout in any collection.

Presentation of the Bottle

The Vaudon Lot 75/78/80 is presented in an elegant, minimalist bottle that reflects its refined character. The clear glass showcases the golden amber hue of the Cognac, while the sleek label highlights the prestigious Lot numbers, adding a touch of sophistication. A simple cork stopper adds to the timeless appeal of the presentation, making it a beautiful addition to any display.

How to Drink

Best enjoyed neat, the Cognac Vaudon Lot 75/78/80 allows the complexity of its fruity notes to shine through. For those seeking a slightly different experience, adding a drop of water can open up even more aromatic layers. This Cognac is perfect for a special occasion or as a contemplative sipper to appreciate its nuanced profile.
