In the male-dominated world of Cognac, two French women are changing the way we drink Cognac with Exsto, a modern style of Cognac for the next generation. In an exclusive limited edition of 888 carafes, the Exsto Or Impérial Cognac brings the warmth of the summer sun, using 8 eaux-de-vie that have spent decades aging in rare French oak barrels.

In collaboration with the seventh generation master blenders - the Vallantin-Dulac family (who have been producing Cognac since the 18th century), master sommelier Julie Dupouy has teamed up with Parisian entrepreneur Sabrina Duong to create an unconventional, fruity and floral Cognac that sets out to avoid an overbearing influence of oak.

This is by no means a Cognac “for women”, it is however a modern, elegant Cognac with a sensual, lively spirit - designed from a female point of view. For this exclusive edition of 888 bottles, the production process is just as groundbreaking as the Cognac itself. Chosen from the private, family stocks that have been kept for generations, 8 eaux-de-vie were blind-picked with selections from Grande and Petite Champagne, as well as the smallest of the crus, Borderies.

Many of these eaux-de-vie were hidden from the Nazi’s during the French occupation, and predate WWII. Flavors are delicate, floral and fresh, with hints of violet and rose petals.

Presentation of the Carafe

Only 888 of these numbered carafes have been produced, and the exclusivity of the product within is replicated in the expert craftsmanship in the bottle’s design. The bottle’s cap has been elegantly designed and hand-blown by French glass artists Eve and Laurent George, perfectly complementing the Cognac’s rich, deep colors.

It’s important to note that this isn’t simply style over substance, Vinolok technology has been applied to keep the bottle hermetically sealed, which retains the enduring quality of this fine product. The design reflects both Exsto’s founders and the Cognac itself: modern, unconventional and like nothing we’ve seen before in the industry.
