This Cognac is a blend of three different eau-de-vie, all of which come from a grower in a small village in the heart of the Grande Champagne. The grower is a family that Prunier has worked with for a considerable number of years due to their placement in the Grande Champagne and the inherent quality of their eaux-de-vie.
The Cognac was first aged in French oak casks before being transferred to a larger oak tank to continue its maturation. Aging in the larger oak tank allows for microoxygenation but with a less-pronounced influence from the oak, which preserves freshness and keeps the fruit notes intact.
The cellar conditions were humid, which enhance the overall mouthfeel and texture and give a Cognac of complexity and balance. This is mature 35-45 year old Grande Champagne Cognac at its finest!
About Cognac Prunier
Stocking, aging, blending, bottling, personal products. For 250 years the House of Prunier celebrates only the best and has been optimizing each quality. As each book tells a story, each Cognac from Prunier’s cellars has its own.
Prunier combines the art of aging and blending carefully selected stocks. The quality of the cellars both at the historical site and in Gimeux contribute towards making Prunier products as amongst the best. It is a privilege for Prunier to share their experience of the magic of blending and to have the pleasure of elaborating unique products which will always remain in one’s memory.
Prunier is proud to own one of the Cognac region’s most extensive ‘Paradise’ cellars, which is now the testimony of qualities as they were consumed in the 19th century. Legend has led them to believe that there is an underground river flowing under their Cognac cellars and that it contributes to the inimitable taste of Prunier cognacs.
Five generations all with the same passion: Cognac.
