Description
Pasquet Trésors de Famille – Le Cognac de Charles L.98 Cognac
The Pasquet Trésors de Famille “Le Cognac de Charles” L.98 is a Petite Champagne Cognac that embodies resilience, passion, and a pioneering spirit. Distilled in 1998 and bottled on July 16, 2025 at its natural strength of 52.7% ABV, this expression is limited to just 648 bottles. It forms part of the Trésors de Famille range, which celebrates the stories and personalities behind each Cognac.
This Cognac pays tribute to Charles and Monique, early advocates of organic viticulture in Charente. In the 1980s they converted their estate to certified organic farming, long before there was demand for organic Cognac. Their vision and determination shaped a legacy of authenticity and respect for the land. The Petite Champagne eaux-de-vie distilled in 1998 matured in new Limousin oak casks, developing a remarkable aromatic profile with pronounced spice, wood, and a deep, gourmand richness.
Each sip of Le Cognac de Charles reflects not only the terroir of Petite Champagne but also the story of a family who embraced perseverance and innovation. It is a Cognac of strength, both in character and in spirit.
Presentation of the bottle
The Cognac comes in a 50cl bottle, sealed with red wax and labeled with detailed handwritten-style information, including the lot number, bottling strength, and bottle number out of 648. The presentation highlights its authenticity and small-batch origin, making it a collector’s item as well as a tasting experience.
How to drink
Best enjoyed neat in a tulip glass, Le Cognac de Charles reveals its full complexity when given time to breathe. Its natural cask strength provides a concentrated experience, but a few drops of water may be added to open additional layers of fruit and spice. This is a Cognac for slow appreciation, ideally shared during moments of reflection or celebration.

Cheerful, dynamic, and an outstanding bottle.
This may be a bottle that is difficult to describe using the usual vocabulary of tasting notes—apricots, nuts, flowers, and the like. What do you expect from a 52.7% cask-strength Cognac? In this Cognac, nuances that normally exist only in rum that has undergone more than 15 years of tropical aging...
Young, strong, and spicy
This is a younger Petite Champagne from one of my favorite producers. This is an acquired cask. This cognac has a nice amber color. It is rather rich on the nose with notes of citrus, vanilla, oak and spices. In mouth you first notice the strength, then all the spices. The body is not very long....
It’s very cheerful, frisky, lifted and aromatic in just the right measure
Here comes a fully organic Petite Champagne, which remains a rare thing indeed in vintages over twenty-five years old. Colour: golden amber. Nose: this is very different from the older Cognacs we’ve just been tasting, being both more floral and more herbaceous, with a livelier tension and perhaps...
About Pasquet Cognac
Certified organic Cognac house Pasquet perfectly strikes the balance between the warmth of family tradition and innovative savoir-faire. In order to revive a plot of vines during the 1990s, the Pasquet family reached deep into their ancestral history to rediscover its organic farming methods. It was here that they found a beautiful equilibrium not only in the ecosystem of their vines, but also in the Cognacs themselves. Since being awarded ‘Agriculture Biologique’ status in 1998, they haven’t looked back, continuing to craft small-batch Cognacs that epitomize natural beauty and balance. With versatile ranges such as ‘L’Organic’ and ‘Esprit de la Famille,’ the Pasquet family ensures that every step of production respects the environment, resulting in a very special collection of Cognacs.
