Description
An 'Impérial' Blend aged for 50 years from the Grande Champagne
Jacky Navarre, a magician among the Cognac producers, has stunned the region with his ability to create artisanal bottles such as the Navarre Souvenir Impérial Hors d’Age Grande Champagne Cognac.
It is fruity, multifaceted and complex from beginning to end. Aged for half a century, this Hors d’Age is an ‘Imperial’ example of Jacky’s ability to produce Cognac blends from the Grande Champagne. It has undergone a process unlike most: non-chill filtered, nor colored or boiséd with wooden chips. It is, just as it was meant to be - straight from the barrel.
Not only does he produce fantastic Cognacs straight from the barrel, but he is also a master blender. Jacky Navarre is a fourth-generation distiller and grows grapes on his eleven-acre estate in Gondeville. He is a master of distillation, and uses no water - he simply allows his Cognacs to reduce by natural evaporation.
The Souvenir Cognac has been distilled in his 30hl Charentais pot still. Navarre is one of the last purists of his kind, and the barrels are oxidized by the humidity of his cellar alone. Allowing nature to do the work, he produces Cognacs with an incredible depth of aromas and undeniable rancio.
Presentation of the bottle
Bottled at its natural cask strength, which is 40% ABV.
How to enjoy
Cognac can be enjoyed in a variety of ways, but considering the age and production process of the Souvenir Cognac, we recommend enjoying it neat, at room temperature in a snifter glass.

Best cognac I have had so far THANK U JACKY
This is by far my favorite Cognac. The bold and smooth robust flavor with the finish of the walnut with the mango and the aromatic spice! This is truly an extreme palate revelation. The only problem is once you start, you can’t stop. I have to call on the cognac god (Jacky Navarre) to help me stop...
A wonderful surprise!
A wonderful cognac! On one side, with so many positive reviews it wasn't a surprise. But still, when I tasted it for the first time, there was that "wow" moment - A perfect balance between age, complexity, and aromas. Fruity, with hints of floral, wood, and a bit of spice.
The Hors d'Age Cognac - Aromatherapy Session
At the opening - the initial aroma of sweet sour-cream honey light port wine with hints of flowers, like rose petals. Hints of pastry or freshly-baked crepes. No ethanol spirit smell. Alcohol is integrated into the cognac aroma. In The Glass: First 5-7 minutes scent of sour-cream honey,...
Smooth criminal
The sip was tasteful and full of body it was exceptionally robust. I didn’t think that Navarre Souvenir Impérial Hors d’Age Grande Champagne would be sold at the price of a beggar and be so good. Get this one just for the hell of it, you’ll see it was worth it ten folds.
Great cognac, multi-leveled with great finish
I just finished my second bottle of this and will be buying more since it's becoming one of my favorites. It has so many flavors going on I find it difficult to pick out one particular fruit or spice. It's very well balanced between fruit, spice, and some earthy tones. Very good lasting finish.
A great drink
I finally got around to opening and having a taste. WOW, this has the typical strong nose, with plenty of up-front burn, as it sits it opens up and settles down. There is a great mouth feel with more fruit and spice. It has a terrific finish that doesn't disappoint. This is going to be my go-to drink...
About Navarre Cognac
You could consider Jacky Navarre, fourth generation distiller of Cognac Navarre, to be one of the last remaining “purists” of his kind. Distilling from the eleven-acre estate in Gondeville of the Grande Champagne, he hand-harvests his fruit - a true artisanal method that is nowadays rare to find. This ancient Cognac house crafts truly traditional Cognac, with an average of 40-50 years for one blend alone. Amazingly, the Cognacs that emerge from this house have no water added - the barrels are oxidized over a long period by the humidity of the cellar alone. The result is a Cognac of unrivaled quality, aroma and depth. His rule is simple - “let nature do most of the work” and the rest will come.
