Marancheville Beyond Age Lot 65-78 Grande Champagne Cognac
The exclusive edition Beyond Age is a Marancheville bottling crafted from a blend of eaux-de-vie spanning lots 65 to 78 (distilled in those years), all from Grande Champagne, the premier cru of the region. Marancheville has pristine vine placement in the cru on the perfect hillside slopes around Segonzac and Juillac le Coq. Bottled at 44.8%, it is a true hors d'age cognac, well beyond any age statement, hence the playful name Beyond Age.
The blend brings together the chalky finesse and slow ageing that define eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne, with the delicate peachy fruit and gentle spice notes that come from decades in oak. There really isn't a wrinkle on this Cognac, and for the house, it is perhaps the release that has the most overtly pretty floral fruit notes. The colour is natural; no additives have been used, and the Cognac is still ageing in barrel to this day, before bottling of course.

Presentation of the bottle
The cognac comes in a tall, slender bottle topped with a deep navy closure. The label states Marancheville Cognac, Beyond Age Lot 65-78, Grande Champagne, 70cl at 44.8%. The amber liquid is clearly visible through the clear glass.
How to drink
Serve neat in a tulip glass at room temperature so the rancio and dried fruit can unfold. Best enjoyed slowly after dinner, on its own.

Marancheville Beyond Age Lot 65-78
Beautiful, pristine nose. Extremely clean and pure. Absolutely nothing obscures from the pretty floral peachy fruit - and that fruit is there in abundance in all shapes and sizes, with drippy ooozy juice. Faint touch of vanilla and interestingly an absence of oak. Maybe also a little miel de fleurs....
