Eye: Medium deep amber color.

Nose: A complex nose, with aromas of vanilla, pastry and prune. Complements of dried fruit, chocolate, tobacco and fine wood linger beyond the initial opening.

Palate: The palate opens discreetly and slowly expands into nutty notes (hazelnut and pistachio) and dried fruit, which is beautifully balanced with an alcoholic taste. A very long finish lingers.

Description

La Fontaine de La Pouyade Grande Champagne

Offering deep aromas and complex flavor beyond comparison, the La Fontaine de la Pouyade is an excellent example of what the Premier Cru region has to offer. Drawing eaux-de-vie from the chalky hills of the Grande Champagne, where the sun’s rays are at their highest intensity, the small area boasts a lower yield per hectare than other crus. This means that each selection is of rare brilliance. Distilled in the winter months, aging takes place in ancient oak barrels, wrought from the heartwood of the tree. With consistent and attentive supervision of owners and cellar masters over a number of generations, the fine attention to detail makes this an exceptional Cognac to enjoy.

Renowned for crafting exceptional, rare selections the La Fontaine de La Pouyade house is made up of 14 generations of expertise. Specializing in limited editions, this is a name that proudly places itself on Cognacs that are hand-selected and aged to perfection. It is this careful attention to detail that offers Coganc’s that are worthy of a place in a collectors cabinet. Displaying this brilliance perfectly, the La Fontaine de La Pouyade Grande Champagne is the embodiment of a spectacular, limited Cognac.

Awards

  • Winner of the gold medal in the Concurs Mondial Bruxelles 2013
  • Double gold medal winner at the CWSA 2013

One that a collector would be proud to display in a Cognac cabinet.
