Description
A "Cask Strength" Grande Champagne Hors d'Age Cognac
Committed to producing Cognac in the most traditional way possible, these independent Cognac and winemakers present the Cognac Guillon Painturaud Brut de Fût 72E3. Everything about this Cognac is simply exceptional. It is a ‘raw cask’ Cognac bottled in the rough, without any reduction whatsoever. The sheer garnet amber shade of this eaux-de-vie indicates its age and quality.
It is also crafted with Ugni Blanc grapes grown in the elite Grande Champagne growing area, which is renowned for its light, refined eaux-de-vie with exceptional length on the palate. This is all possible due to the millions of years of specific fossilization that has taken place in this region. The high limestone content of the soil makes for easy drainage and exceptionally long aging. The Painturaud estate also lies at the heart of the Premier Cru.
Simply bearing the name “72E3” which corresponds to the barrel number selected in the maison’s very own cellars, it showcases the selective ability of knowing when a Cognac is ready for bottling, after more than 30 years spent aging in the wooden casks.
Such carefully honed skills can only be developed after years and years of savoir-faire, passed down from generation to generation. The Cellar Master of Painturaud is the third generation, and Painturaud Cognac aim to work with the vines in a traditional manner, cultivating the soil and maintaining their vines in a way that respects the savoir-faire of their ancestors.
Presentation of the bottle
The bottle is bottled at natural cask strength, which is 43.6% ABV. It arrives in a 50cl cubic decanter that is truly timeless in style.
Serving Suggestions
