A Fins Bois Cognac de Collection aged for at least 36 years
Another part of Grosperrin’s historic Cognac de Collection is the Grosperrin Fins Bois No. 68 Cognac. Although not a Vintage Cognac, it is like the Number 71 Cognac which has been aged for at least 36 years in old oak casks. Produced on the chalky hills of Vars at around 100 meters altitude (which is rare to find in the Cognac region, where the average altitude is 20 meters), this batch consists of several old Cognac barrels.
In 1982, the widow of the producer inherited the Cognacs and ceased operating in the business after his death. She left the precious eaux-de-vie to his children in 2017, and it was then that the Grosperrin House bought the casks. With only a few precious hectoliters left, the family heirs today take the greatest care to preserve this unique heritage in the depths of their Paradis cellars.
The Fins Bois cru is the largest of the Cognac terroirs, covering 37,000 hectares. Their eaux-de-vie are renowned for producing round and supple Cognacs that age quickly, with a bouquet of pressed grapes.

About Grosperrin Cognac
The independent Cognac house of Grosperrin is a relatively new one in the region, having only been established in 1999 by its founder, Jean Grosperrin. Grosperrin is based in Saintes which sits between the terroirs of Fins Bois and Borderies and it is today run by Jean’s son, Guilhelm, who took over in 2004 at just 23 years old.
Guilhelm’s mission is to discover producers all across the region in order to create truly unique Cognacs from the six crus. This vision was made possible by the fantastic relationships Jean Grosperrin built with producers, and that Guilhelm has since built on and expanded. Today, Grosperrin works with over 150 Cognac producers, from which Guilhelm will meticulously select barrels to craft into exquisite end bottles.
