Tasting review

Tasting review by Frapin:

Eye: Beautiful orange-brown color

Nose: Powerful and complex. Fruity notes of dried apricot, fig, orange, liquorice, & tobacco, with cigar box notes that appear with airing

Palate: Woody notes, prunes and candied fruits. The Rancio flavour is well developed & the finish is exceptionally long. The flavor evolves greatly in the mouth

Description

If you're on the hunt for an uber-high quality, rare Cognac, the the Frapin Cuvee Plume Cognac certainly ticks the boxes.  Created from a blend of around 20 exclusive Ugni Blanc eaux-de-vie grown within their own vines - and all from the Grande Champagne terroir.  It took over 6 decades for the wine to age within the century old barrels with Frapin's cellars - only then were they deemed ready to woven into the art for that is this top notch Cognac.

Produced in a strictly limited edition of 500 numbered bottles, not only is the Cognac a sensory excellence, but the decanter and presentation box are also a work of art in their own right.  A Cognac for that ultra special occasion, or one that any collector of fine Cognacs would be proud to own.

About Frapin Cognac

The Frapin family has been around the Southwest of France since 1270. Always active in the domain of winegrowing, they specialized in distillation much later on and have since continued to stand strong throughout twenty generations! The estate owns 300 hectares of land entirely in the Grande Champagne area, of which 200 are planted with vines. Frapin’s home in the beautiful caste Fontpinot in the town of Segonzac. The most famous family member was the 16th century author Francois Rabelais, after whom a prestigious Frapin cognac bottle is named: The Cuvee Rabelais. Like some other cognac houses, Frapin needs to extend business through diversifying into other luxury products such as chocolate or coffee. Frapin was the first cognac producer to invent a multi-vintage blend, combining vintages of different years to create the perfect taste.
