Eye: Fiery amber.

Nose: Fruity notes of plum jam, with a long rancio. The aroma will eventually invade your senses with spicy nutmeg.

Palate: A complex mélange of spices such as pepper and muscat, and a roundless and oily attack in the mouth. It will continue towards notes of dried roses, old oak barrels, for a rambunctious finale. The perfect match for a Cognac digestif.

Description

Hors d’Age XO Decanter Cognac - 100% Petite Champagne

A specially presented Cognac from this familial brand, the Du Frolet Quintard Hors d’Age XO Cognac Decanter has been aged far beyond the average XO, and is produced using grapes entirely derived from the Petite Champagne terroir. Aged for an average of 20 years, it is a gorgeously round Cognac, with spice and sweetness. Presented in a stunning decanter, it makes a perfect gift for any Cognac aficionado.

The grape wine has been distilled over lees, and then aged in Limousin oak barrels, to then sleep for over 20 decades in humid cellars. It has not been reduced at all; this has happened naturally over time due to the long aging process. The assemblage of this Cognac is truly exceptional, and only the best eaux-de-vie from the Petite Champagne has been selected for the blend.

Produced using entirely Ugni Blanc grapes, this Cognac has been grown optimally in clay-limestone, shallow subsoils. This very environment is perfect for producing fine eaux-de-vie.

The Quintard brothers are Thomas and Bastien, who have grown up with the spirit of the vine in their DNA. They are the fourth generation of landowners, and have created a brand that perfectly encapsulates what they are about. As independent Cognac makers since 2019, they are committed to growing vines in a way that respects the environment and the terroir.

How to serve

This Cognac features gorgeous aromas of plum jam, mixed with the classic rancio of the Charente region. it will eventually take over your senses with nutmeg on the nose. We recommend sipping it neat as a digestif.

Presentation of the decanter

This wide-bodied decanter will take pride of place in any selection, and has a sleek silver stopper.
