Description
In honouring 150 years of Chateau de Montifaud, this 150th Anniversary Cognac is a beautiful blend comprising six generations of cognac. As a limited edition, 1,866 bottles have been released to celebrate the year of 1866 in which the cognac house was born. The oldest cognac in the blend is from 1850, the youngest from 2005, and each represents the six generations of the Vallet family who have devoted their lives and expertise to producing cognac in the heart of the Grande Champagne and Petit Champagne terroirs.
Boasting blends of more than 100 years in age, the Chateau de Montifaud 150th Anniversary Cognac is an undoubtedly unique eaux-de-vie that appeals to keen cognac connoisseurs and passionate aficionados alike.
As a result of the chalky land content and prominent limestone in the Grande Champagne region, high quality eaux-de-vie is expected from cognac houses such as Chateau de Montifaud and this hors d'âge, limited edition cognac certainly does not disappoint.
Presentation of the bottle
The bottle is presented in a cage-style box which symbolises the metal gates of the house’s paradise cellar of Chateau de Montifaud. Each of the special design bottles is marked with a hand-crafted wax seal and has a numbered certificate, indicating that this bottle truly is a one of a kind Cognac collector’s item.
How to enjoy
As with other hors d’age cognacs that have been aged in cellars for decades - it is best to let the eaux-de-vie speak for itself and therefore the cognac should be poured into a “taster’s” glass; neat. For those with a sweet tooth why not consider pairing this limited edition cognac with dessert? As Chateau de Montifaud 150th Anniversary Cognac is a full-bodied cognac containing spicy aromas - an equally rich, dark chocolate is a proven perfect match.
About Château de Montifaud
Owned by the family Vallet for six generations, Chateau de Montifaud Cognac boasts 125 hectares of vineyards that are located in both the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne growing regions. The house produces a large, high quality range of cognacs – including various vintages from years that have had an exceptional harvest. One family tradition that Cognac Chateau Montifaud is proud to follow, is that of when a new baby boy is born to the head of the cognac house, that part of the cognac created from that year’s harvest is set to one side. This is kept for a varying number of years, but may only be sold by future generations.
