Description

A luxury Cognac from a blend of extremely rare eaux de vie

In the 1970s Michel Camus conceived and created a new style of cognac for him and his friends and named it Camus Extra. A new standard for luxury cognac was born. The Camus Extra today is an exceptional blend of very rare eaux-de-vie mainly from vineyards of Borderies, Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, all selected for their superb ageing potential and intense aromatic flavors.

The presence in the blend of the precious old Borderies Cognacs from the smallest growing area and dear to the heart of Camus, enhances the sophisticated, smooth aroma. After optimum ageing condition in cool, damp cellars, Camus Extra develops intense aromatic flavors with dominating dry fruits and a complex texture of sweet notes of dried violets, pastries, tobacco, leather and walnut, which culminate in a velvety final.

Camus Cognac Extra Awards

  • The Cognac Masters 2021: Gold
  • The Global Luxury Masters 2020: Gold
  • Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2020: 94 points
  • Its crystal decanter received a Pentaward for incredible packaging design.
How to serve your Camus Extra Elegance

The mature Extra Elegance must not be hurried. To experience its fullness, allow the golden nectar to breathe, preferably in a tulip or balloon glass. Given its intense flavors and age, it is best to drink the cognac neat. Sip it slow, allow the fruity and floral notes to blossom, and wait for the spicy oak and sweet butterscotch to settle down. With care, the cognac reveals its perfectly balanced nature.

Camus Extra Elegance Millennium Crystal Decanter

Rather fittingly, this millennium special has a 70cl crystal decanter that was designed by Cyril Camus. The unique sleek design showcases the spirit and departs from Camus’s more robust tear-drop bottles. A brushed steel stopper seals the decanter and merges seamlessly with the crystal. It arrives in an ebony matte-finished box that unlatches from a corner. Inside, the decanter sits on a well-deserved pedestal.

About Camus Cognac

Since 1863, five generations of the Camus family have cultivated a single-minded passion for crafting great Cognac with their own style. Laid across 180 hectares in the smallest and rarest AOC cru - the Borderies - the Camus family has always been deeply involved in winemaking and distilling. It is this unbreakable bond between the land, the traditions and the people who live on it that helps them craft superb Cognacs. Today, it is Cyril Camus who is the bearer of all family tradition and oversees the undisputed quality of Camus Cognac. Export development and product development remain at the top, with a passion for innovation. Cyril Camus has entirely modernized the Cognac house’s interiors, relying on a fresh new take on Cognac for the new century. Instead of leather, wood and velvet in shades of brown, he opts for light colors and a combination of tradition and modern design.
