Grande Champagne
Description
This is a stunning example of a single-barrel premier cru Cognac that has been produced using traditional methods. Jean Aubinea’s Grande Champagne vintage comes solely from Ugni Blanc grapes and is a natural wonder with no additives, caramels, or sugars added to it.
This Cognac is of Hors d’Age quality, having been aged for 63 years, during which time the ABV naturally reduced to a cask strength of 48%. The eau-de-vie spent its time, first in new barrels for six months, and then for the remaining years in the old oak cask that Jean’s father used to use. Only around 200 bottles now remain.
Presentation of the bottle:
A classic cognacaise bottle with a wonderfully simplistic label - this bottle lets the Cognac speak for itself.
How to enjoy:
This single barrel Cognac should be savored neat at room temperature so as to fully appreciate the cru and the year from which it was born.

Hidden gem
Higher alcohol content is great for me. This cognac screams for half an hour aeration - being older than 60 years. Bottle itself is modest, but well suited for such a cognac. Honestly I prefer this style of bottling comparing to the fancy overmarketed carafs with not so well aged content.
Aubineau un petite mysterie n'est pas?
This Cognac perplexes me each time i drink it... considered its 63 years aged in barrels, i dont quite understand why i have to go hunting for the rancio in the nose... its a little higher in alcohol content which i prefer a 40% to be honest... but wonderful almost over candied fruit aromas on the...
One of the best cognacs
I love this cognac! Aubineau Grande Champagne Cognac is one of my all time favorites. The nose has what I like in a grand champagne cognac a nice oak wood that is enhanced by different aromas such as honey and floral notes. Ever single sip I appreciated more and more. This is a fantastic cognac, as...
It's a tribute
This is a rare good cognac. Let's drink to the perseverance. It's a good cognac for everyone to have a good time. It highlights the characteristics of cognac in the grand Champaign area. The fragrance of flowers, preserves and aged oak are very obvious.
what an "event".... a "old styled" handcrafted Cognac
This was/is an amazing experience. Open the bottle, pour in a good glas and wait..... in between have your nose getting the various flavours developping, intense . . a mixture of fruits, caramels, slight spicy parts, you find woody but also floral elements, vanille, honey.... just a pleasure to sniff....
