A. de Vacqueur Lot 34 Fins Bois Cognac
Maison A. de Vacqueur presents a pre-war Fins Bois of remarkable depth, maturity, and stunning complexity. It comes from a typical “light groie” terroir, the chalky, stony soil found deep in the Fins Bois cru near Matha. This is a hors d’age cognac in the fullest sense.
The lot was aged entirely in barrel and never moved to glass, then left in cask for decades by a small winegrower family estate before being rediscovered. Therefore its age is just shy of a full century, which is truly remarkable for a Fins Bois Cognac. Its alcohol reduction is entirely natural, with not a single drop of water added. The colour is natural and no additives have been used. This is a bottle that is as interesting as it is rare. One for serious collectors and lovers of pure un-messed with old Cognac.

Presentation of the bottle
The cognac is presented in a tall, clear bottle sealed with a natural cork. The kraft-toned label carries the A. de Vacqueur bird emblem, the mention Lot 34, Fins Bois, and the format 70cl at 43.6% vol. The very deep amber colour is visible through the glass.
How to drink
Serve neat in a tulip glass or snifter at room temperature, giving it time in the glass to release its rancio. A cognac to sip slowly and on its own.

Seemingly very mature and complex - not fair to try and pick it apart from just one sitting as I am doing now. Notes: beautiful old antique wood, rancio, Amaro with its orange-y bitter herbal woody...
