Monluc Promises Serious Seventies Style with Armagnac 1970

Monluc’s Armagnac 1970 is every Armagnac connoisseur's golden ticket to the 1970s. This pristine vintage from the Monluc Château in Ténarèze achieves an impactful effect on the palate and has been meticulously mastered to achieve the optimal expression of the brandy’s year of harvest.

The Monluc Château is situated in the historic, hilltop village of Saint-Puy, in the Gers department of France. The village has a rich medieval history, having stood the test of time and weathered a number of invasions over the past ten centuries, and the Château is named after Blaise de Monluc - a 17th century Saint-Puy memorialist, French marshal and staunch defender of the monarchy. Nonetheless, the spirit of this Armagnac house is rooted in the family - René Lassus, inspired by his great-grandfather and local winegrower, transformed Monluc into a veritable business.

On the palate, this vintage Armagnac brings a hit of feistiness, at once dry but lively, complex and soft, obtaining an overall sense of fantastic finesse. To best reflect this powerful product, the Armagnac 1970 comes in an Exception bottle, a tall tapered body that puts the drink’s golden glow on full display. Flecks of amber then make like a 70s disco ball by catching in the light to render the eau-de-vie even more enticing.

Armagnac 1970 is anything but shy, so Armagnac connaisseurs need not hesitate to get to know this golden bottle packed with seventies groove.
