Description
Albert de Montaubert 1956 XO Imperial Cognac
A magnificent release from the beautiful Millesime Imperial collection, the Albert de Montaubert 1956 XO Imperial Cognac consists exclusively of eaux-de-vie produced from the harvest of 1956. To ensure each bottle will be 100% vintage, only Cognac from the same year is used to compensate for the evaporative losses that occur during maturation - also known as the ‘angel’s share’. These expressions are highly regarded, not only for their extraordinary rarity but also for their full flavor and complex aromas.
The House of Albert de Montaubert & Fils starts with its namesake, who began to distil Cognac in 1842 at the family distillery of Vallein Tercinier, using grapes from their vineyards purchased in 1791. Today, they are in possession of the oldest Cognac still in production and maintain traditional methods for making their eaux-de-vie. The family only harvest from their own estate vineyards to this day, which means all their grapes originate in the heart of the Cognac region - the Grande Champagne. This small exclusive area is where some of Cognac’s finest grapes are produced, which is why it’s also known as the Premier Cru.
Presentation of the Bottle
Elegantly curved with a thick base, the decanter has a distinctly luxurious appearance heightened by the use of gold lettering on the front - and the matching gold stopper creates a bold impression. The vintage is prominently displayed both on the glass as well as on the red wax medallion, making it a great gift for anyone with a 1956 birthday or anniversary.
How to Enjoy Albert de Montaubert 1956 XO Imperial Cognac
The perfect digestif, this is a wonderful vintage Cognac to enjoy in good company, on special occasions, and when you have plenty of time to savor the moment. Pour into tulip glasses and wait a few moments to allow the aromas to fully open up.
