Description
The Gin à la Bigarade makes a central place to the bitter orange known as "bigarade", the basis of marmalades and an ingredient in a number of but its bitterness has kept it away without constituting to distillation; it is its fresh and deep notes that explain its use in many Gins.
The bigarades are found in abundance in the Mediterranean basin because of their resistance, greater than that of other citrus fruits. The Gin of Distillerie du petit Grain blends a selection of bitter oranges (Citrus Aurantium): Seville bigarade, "striata" bigarade, and "bouquetier de Nice". This selection allows them to obtain an aromatic complexity while respecting the logic of the aromatic families. Their original recipe plays on the complementarity of the juniper berries, with wild rosemary, the cones of resinous trees, and the "pepper of the pepper from Vietnam that evokes the acidulous candies with Clementine candy.
