Description

Journeying from Jamaica to Jarnac: Saison Rum Pale

In this exciting limited edition from Distillerie Tessendier, the Saison Pale Rum captures and harnesses all the very best qualities of the three expert rum-producing regions in the Caribbean: Barbados, Trinidad and Jamaica, finding a delicate balance between richness and intensity resulting in an extraordinary depth of flavor and wide array of elaborate aromas.

This balance has been found by integrating the delicate quality of sugarcane-produced rum, distilled in columns, and the intense, rich flavor of molasses-produced rum, distilled in traditional copper stills. Bringing together rums from different refining methods favors a flavor-heavy final result, produced from unaged rums, to create something truly special for your tastebuds.

The rum is then transferred to European soils and blended by Cognac Master and artisan Jerome Tessender, who works tirelessly to carefully concoct a distinctive aromatic profile, whether it be floral, fruity or spicy.

The rum is then left to mature in French oak barrels in the stunning Cognac-producing town of Jarnac over the course of three months, right on the banks of the picturesque Charente river, in order to produce wonderfully warming toasted and spicy notes.

Finally, when the rum has voyaged across the globe and finished its majestic maturation, it’s reduced to 40% and most importantly, no sugar is added. This unique distillation and maturation process gives this powerful pale rum its distinctive character and depth of flavor.

This particular edition by Saison rum is a fresh, fruity and floral blend. Fruits dominate with notes of vanilla, flambéd banana and honey permeating throughout on the palate. This subtle marriage of freshness with a creamy, smooth texture makes it the ideal cocktail spirit for your favourite rum-based tipple.

How to Enjoy

Saison Rum's pale edition is the ideal ingredient for a cocktail, as it has a fresher flavor profile than its older, spiced counterparts in the range, it would be ideal in a classic Caribbean Ti Punch or equally a Daiquiri.

For a classic Ti Punch, cut a lime into cubes, muddle and mix with two teaspoons of sugar in a rocks glass, add 1.5 fl oz. of Saison Pale Rum, stir and enjoy. Island locals typically enjoy their Ti Punch neat, but feel free to add a few ice cubes or crushed ice for a really refreshing rum aperitif!

Presentation of the Bottle

The bottles tall yet sharply-edged design is reminiscent of the columns it is distilled in, with its round shape a jolly reminder of its time spent in French oak barrels on the banks of the Charente river.

This is surely a bottle to display front and center of your drinks cabinet or home bar, its light pastel blue color gives it a fresh, summery feel and the compass on the label invites the drinker to learn of its long voyage across the ocean, from Jamaica to Jarnac, for your sensory pleasure.
