Growth Area: Fine Champagne

Cognac Age: XO Cognac (minimum 35 years old)

ABV: 40%

The Vallein Tercinier XO Vieille Reserve Cognac is a delectable old blend of eaux-de-vie from the two premier growth areas of the region. It's designated as a Fine Champagne, meaning that a minimum of 50% comes from Grande Champagne, the rest from Petite Champagne. The youngest component in the blend has been aged for at least 35 years, and this has led to an extremely elegant, round, and deliciously mature taste experience. A deserving award winner, this is a great example of why small producers can provide you so much more for your money. One of the most outstanding aspects of this wonderfully old Cognac is its exceptional finish. Multi-faceted, and almost never-ending, it has to be tasted to be truly appreciated.

Growth Area: Grande Champagne

Cognac Age: Hors d'Age (aged between 50 and 70 years)

ABV: 40%

The Bache Gabrielsen Hors d’Age is a high-end Cognac from the Grande Champagne terroir, and considered to be the “pièce de résistance” of their selection. It consists of a mix between the Ugni Blanc and of the rare Folle Blanche grape, and is exclusively cultivated in the Grande Champagne growing area. The dark amber liquid mirrors its age; the Hors d’Age is a blend made up of eaux-de-vie that has been aged in Limousin oak barrels between 50 and 70 years. The oak barrels give Cognac its full spice experience, and Bache-Gabrielsen use only the best. The oldest eaux-de-vie in the blend reaches back all the way to 1917, and the youngest to around 1960; this is undeniably reflected in the quality of the blend itself. It is a rich Cognac with plenty to show off about, and comprises the best elements of fine Premier Cru produce, such as its long finish.

Marcillac Vintage 1975 Armagnac

Armagnac Age: Vintage 1975

ABV: 42%

Bottle Size: 750ml

Located in the Lot-et-Garonne region near the city of Agen, the Marcillac Armagnac estate dates back to the 12th Century when it was founded by Prémonté monks. The monastery was acquired in 1730 by a wine merchant from Bordeaux who restored it and converted it into a castle, which was fashionable at the time, and focused on developing the vineyard and wines. The current family acquired the estate in the year 1900 and started distilling wine to make Armagnac following the exact same vinification, distillation and aging processes that the monks followed centuries before.
