Description
Jean Fillioux VSOP Subtil & So Cognac
Jean Fillioux VSOP Subtil & So Cognac is a blend that has been aged for a minimum of 4 years, with many of its components spending a much longer maturation process in French oak barrels. Revealing fresh citrusy notes with an abundance of fresh and floral finesse alongside some underlying spices, it serves as a beautiful springtime Cognac to enjoy as the days become longer and the sun begins to shine again.
The House of Jean Fillioux has an extraordinary family history that began in 1894 at the Domaine de La Pouyage. Today the estate rests in the heart of the Grande Champagne, the premier cru of the Cognac region.
Presentation of the bottle
The house of Jean Fillioux simply allows the high quality of their wares to do all the talking, with no need for dressing up in fancy packaging. Elegant accents of royal blue set it apart from other blends in the collection and an accompanying presentation tube serves this VSOP well as a beautiful gift.
How to enjoy
This VSOP can be enjoyed neat at room temperature, on the rocks or topped up with tonic water and served as an aperitif. For the mixologists out there, due to its relatively young age and fresh nature, it is also a Cognac that serves well as the base spirit of a cocktail.

The original products are better
nice packaging, tin can and chic bottle, that's about it. You have to make an effort to perceive aromas that you know from Napoleon and La Pouyade. Sure, a bouquet of flowers, you taste and smell it as announced; if you order Jean Filliuox standard products you are better served.
Delicate young and fresh VSOP
This is a relatively new blend from JF. It is fresh and young on the nose. You can find clear tones of citrus. It is also quite fruity in the mouth. The body could have had volume. The finish is also a bit narrow. This is a great young cognac. It is a typical spring cognac. I also assume it goes well...
