Description
A Family Affair - Geffard Henri’s 1er Cru VSOP Cognac
Found in the heart of the Grande Champagne growing region (the premier cru), the Geffard family have been producing Cognac since 1840. Five generations later, the family continue their legacy and tradition with Karine and Stephane producing both classic and experimental Cognacs for your tasting pleasure.
Described as a "charming' VSOP, it boasts an intense nose that gradually develops into an attack on the senses, with a complex combination of vanilla, spices, flowers and fresh white fruits. The rancio is well marked for this particular VSOP, adding to an unusual aromatic structure of almond, spices, eucalyptus and of course, that classic Charente rancio character.
Geffard Henri VSOP Awards
This particular VSOP has won the gold medal at the Paris General Agriculture Competition, also winning the bronze at the Independent Winegrower competition in 2013.
How to Enjoy
Unlike their "SPECIAL TONIC" Cognac (designed to be mixed as an aperitif), this particular VSOP should be enjoyed later in the evening, perhaps alongside a freshly-pressed cafetière of arabica bean coffee as a delectable digestif.
Presentation of the bottle
This charming premier cru bottle is equally as elegant as the flavors it houses, with a classic label depicting the breathtaking vineyard found on the 30-hectare Geffard Henri estate, a true family affair.
